Inland Truck & Equipment Ltd. has announced its acquisition of Edmonton Kenworth Ltd., effective April 1, 2026—marking a significant milestone as Inland officially enters the Alberta market. With this acquisition, Inland adds six locations across Northern Alberta, expanding its Canadian service network from British Columbia and the Yukon in the west to Manitoba in the east.

This strategic growth represents an important step in Inland’s continued expansion across Western Canada, strengthening the organization’s ability to support customers operating across provincial boundaries. By establishing a footprint in Alberta, Inland is better positioned to deliver the consistent, reliable service customers count on—especially for businesses working in vital industries such as transportation, oil and gas, and forestry.

“We are very excited to enter the Alberta market and to welcome our new team members from Edmonton Kenworth,” said Andrew Johnston, Inland’s President & Chief Operating Officer. “We have long respected the EKW team and the strong reputation they’ve built. This acquisition brings together two organizations with shared values and a commitment to supporting our customers and communities, and we look forward to building on that foundation together.”

What this means for customers

For customers who operate across Western Canada, the addition of Edmonton Kenworth’s locations enhances Inland’s ability to provide dependable support across provincial lines—helping fleets and operators stay productive with service that’s easier to access and more consistent across regions. With a stronger network spanning from BC and the Yukon through to Manitoba, Inland is expanding the reach and depth of its service offering—reinforcing its commitment to keeping customers moving wherever the work takes them.

Built on experience, and powered by people

Edmonton Kenworth has been a fixture on Alberta’s highways since 1982, supporting the fleets and owner-operators that drive the province’s economy. While these six locations will transition to the Inland name, the local teams will continue doing what they do best—backed by the additional inventory and network depth of Inland.

“We know The Inland Group very well; they will be excellent stewards to run this next chapter of EKW,” said Gary King, President of Edmonton Kenworth Ltd. “They operate with the same core values of honesty and integrity as we do. Inland will provide excellent opportunities for our employees to advance their Kenworth careers, and as important, provide even better support to our customers. We are confident we have left the company in exceptionally capable hands.”

As the transition progresses, Inland will share updates and helpful information for customers, including what to expect as Edmonton Kenworth locations move under the Inland brand. Please stay tuned for more information as additional details are released in the coming weeks.
